About Noble Adler
I am primarily focused on the figure and portrait with some exploration into non-representational imagery. As distinct from the classical realist movement, I am not interested in polished rendering for its own sake since the visible hand of the artist is more satisfying for communicating my response to people and situations, particularly the nude. The one significant aspect that computers and other high tech tools lack, is the organic (analog) nature of physical materials. This sensual characteristic between the materials, the artist, and the viewer is something I relish given our progressive immersion in digital everything. Some of my favorite artists in no particular order: Rembrandt, Eric Fischl, Egon Schiele, Lucian Freud, Richard E. Miller, Jenny Saville, Alex Kanevsky, Nicolai Fechin, Gerhard Richter, Jeremy Lipking, Valintine Serov, Anders Zorn, and Käthe Kollwitz. Solo ShowsVermeer in the XXI Century, Galerie Ingrid Cooper,
